TAKE THE PLEDGE
We pledge to take back the rape of mother earth.
We wear a red belt around our thigh,
Close to our most sacred space
Our root, our yoni, our lingam, our prism.
Traditionally a symbolic place to mark the “gift” we are giving to
Our husbands, lovers, partners, our others.
Now, we give that gift back to ourselves, and back to
where we came from.
A ribbon wrapped around the gift of our awareness.
In present times we have the privilege of witnessing where
Our ancestors have lead us.
For some, our ancestors
Have uprooted us.
Have lead us to new lands in hopes of conquest.
Only to spoil the gifts of the earth and plant upon her
Factories instead of trees.
Industries rather than communities.
They did what they thought was best to survive.
Many were pioneers. Many were greedy. Many were indoctrinated
into a culture of fear.
For others, their ancestors suffered at the hands of these conquerers.
The indigenous people of this land now carry theses wounds.
Their ancestors witnessed
Their people, their culture, and their home- the earth,
which is intrinsically tied to their spirit-
Raped and rampaged.
This is why we wear red.
For the people who walk the red road, who have
seen great suffering.
For our root chakra, which ties us to the land.
For all people, who live their lives divorced
from the harmony of nature.
For the children of the earth,
Who deserve to know a future filled with love.
For the first color of the rainbow, the color that births all others of this global nation.
For mother earth and lover nature, whose blood we feed from.
This is why we wear red jasper,
Known as “mother earth’s blood”
This stone is spiritually grounding, stabilizing, and aids in raising the kundalini.
It garners the energy of our root chakra
And grounds it into Mother earth.
It heals any blockages in our root chakra,
Which is why we wear it close to our
Perineum.
We wear protecting hematite as well, to balance the work of the jasper
and aid in mental clairty with our actions.
We take the earth and adorn ourselves with her, as a reminder
Of her bounty.
That scarcity is an illusion
Bred by the culture of fear.
We agree, if the earth is to be raped in this ongoing way,
we will wear it and bear it with every step.
This movement guides our every choice and action
toward making that change.
With our awareness comes a responsibility.
a resurgence, a redemption.
A renaissance.
A renewal.
It is our duty, service, and privilege to honor the earth.
It is our greatest grace to align our life’s purposes with the harmony of nature.
We take back our power, we take back our rape.
The earth has bled for us for so long.
We are not afraid to bleed for her.
